Lifting embryo ban would ease family agony

Scientists and IVF experts have called for the lifting of a ban on the creation of human embryos containing DNA from three people. The controversial research could benefit families affected by mitochondrial disease, which is inherited via the mother’s egg and can lead to severe disability and early death in children.  (Sydney Morning Herald)
