Are moral questions a matter of science?

September 23, 2010

The controversy we were witnessing on stem cell research has seemed to calm down recently mostly because scientists have made progress in using non-embryonic stem cells for attaining almost the same possibilities of treatment that we were hoping to attain with embryonic stem cells. In this regard embryonic stem cells are not as sought after now as before, at least it would seem. The controversy which surrounded the stem cell obtained from embryos is interesting to show how science can bring about a moral debate but not in ways to illuminate us in what actually is, but only insofar as it may allow us to support our arguments one way or another.
