The High-Tech Spin Cycle: An Ethical Roadmap for Caring for Chronically Complex Kids

November 17 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Free

Pediatric Ethics Grand Rounds (PEGR) creates space for thoughtful conversation about the ethical questions that arise in caring for children and families. Led by the clinical ethics team at Children’s Hospital Colorado, each session brings together diverse perspectives to examine challenging cases, emerging concerns, and the values that shape pediatric healthcare.

PEGR is free and open to the community, welcoming healthcare professionals, faculty, staff, students, and others interested in exploring the human and ethical dimensions of pediatric care.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify why frequent admissions for medically complex patients contribute to ethical tensions.
  2. Recognize specific clinical and systemic factors that contribute to conflict, evoke moral distress, and threaten professional purpose.
  3. Apply ethical frameworks to clarify ethical obligations to the child and family and identify opportunities for moral agency.
