Based within the Nuffield Department of Population Health, The Ethox Centre is an internationally recognised multidisciplinary bioethics research centre and is a vibrant and intellectually exciting place to work. We are seeking a Senior Researcher to initiate, develop and maintain effective research partnerships with senior scientists and health professionals in the Nuffield Department of Population Health, Big Data Institute, and the Medical Sciences Division more broadly.

You will play a senior research leadership role in the Centre, generate significant research funding and initiate and develop effective research partnerships locally, nationally and internationally. You will play a key role in the mentoring of early career researchers and in supporting them with funding applications and will provide academic supervision for doctoral students in areas related to the research activities of the centre.

You will hold a relevant PhD/DPhil, have significant post-qualification experience and have an outstanding international reputation for research on ethics and population health with an interest in developing an innovative programme of research on population health ethics and/or on ethical issues around the uses of population health data. You will have an excellent publication record, ambitious research plans and a strong track record in attracting externally funded research. Excellent leadership, people management skills and interpersonal skills are also essential. You will have the ability to teach ethics to medical students and have demonstrable expertise in supervising research students.
