Statement of Administration Policy

January 11, 2007

The Whitehouse today released a statement (PDF) laying out President Bush’s stance on the stem cell research bill (H.R. 3 The Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act of 2007), which is currently under debate on the House floor. In short:

The Administration strongly opposes House passage of H.R. 3, which would use Federal taxpayer dollars to support and encourage the destruction of human life for research. . . . If H.R. 3 were presented to the President, he would veto the bill.
