BIO: Madison Kilbride, PhD, MSME, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Utah. She earned her PhD in Philosophy from Princeton University and her MS in Medical Ethics from the University of Pennsylvania. She also completed a fellowship in the Penn Postdoctoral Training Program in the Ethical, Legal and Social Implications (ELSI) of Genetics and Genomics. Dr. Kilbride’s ELSI research focuses on consumer genetic testing for disease risk. Her work also explores questions about the ethical obligations created by genetic knowledge and the limits of medical gatekeeping in an era of unprecedented access to health information.
