Institute for Health Law, Bioethics, and Policy First Annual Symposium

March 20 @ 9:00 am - 4:30 pm

The first annual conference of Touro University’s Institute for Health Law, Bioethics, and Policy will focus on  Reproductive Health Policy. This conference will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the Touro University Main Campus, at 3 Times Square in New York City with a virtual option to attend via Zoom.

This symposium seeks to address the current landscape of reproductive policy. Throughout the day, we will address three key topics in the field including in vitro fertilization, the effects of Dobbs on access to care and crisis pregnancy centers. The details of each panel’s discussion are as follows:

• Post-Dobbs Access to Care: Examining shifting OBGYN residency patterns and increased pregnancy risks resulting from policy barriers.

• IVF and Legal Definitions: Exploring how legal definitions of embryos shape the regulation of reproductive technologies.

• Crisis Pregnancy Centers: Analyzing the operations of unlicensed pregnancy centers and the legal landscape that enables their functioning.
