U.S. Immigration Detention: Bioethical Transgressions and Imperatives

While issues related to immigration detention are often in the news, less discussed are the specific bioethical breaches that have occurred since its inception and worsened as the number of people detained has skyrocketed. This talk will discuss the current state of U.S. immigration detention, specific areas where bioethical principles and norms have been most grossly violated, and the areas that most need light shone on them in order to improve the care of those detained.
