Prof Wilmut has transfered his research interests from animals to human biology, and in 2005 he moved from Roslin to Edinburgh University, where he holds the chair of reproductive science. He has subsequently become director of the Scottish Centre for Regenerative Medicine, a £59m project designed to help exploit the UK’s leadership in research with stem cells, including commercialisation.
