Study Identifies Genetic Differences in Kidney Tumors of African-Americans

(News-Medical) – A University of North Carolina Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center-led study has identified genetic differences in tumors of African-Americans with the most common type of kidney cancer compared with whites. The findings, published Thursday in the journal JAMA Oncology, could help explain lower survival rates for African-Americans with clear cell renal cell carcinoma.
