Dogs hold out stem-cell hopes

In Vet-Stem’s procedure, a small amount of the animal’s fat, the equivalent of two or three tablespoons, is surgically removed and shipped overnight to the company’s labs in Southern California. The cells are isolated and returned to the veterinarian two days later in the form of concentrated regenerative stem cells. (Philadelphia Inquirer)
