New Free Biomedical Ethics Film Library

February 1, 2012

The Scottish Council on Human Bioethics (SCHB) has announced its new free biomedical ethics film
library: http://www.schb.org.uk/films/.

This library, which is one of the largest in the world, includes the listing of nearly 300 documentary and drama films subdivided into 19 categories ranging from human cloning to biomedical research and eugenics and enhancement to transplantation. Each film is presented with a short summary emphasising the different aspects of biomedical ethics covered. Dramas usually also have a link to the Internet Movie Database.

Dr. Calum MacKellar, Director of Research of the SCHB indicated that “This biomedical ethics film library
will be an invaluable tool for anyone seeking to use films in educational setting or in the preparation of
biomedical ethics film festivals.”
