Op-Ed: Transplant tourism

Much like a rebellious teenager, Pakistan has developed a reputation for trouble making across a variety of international communities, disciplines and industries. Nuclear proliferation, human trafficking, environmental degradation, cyber fraud — name it, and chances are that Pakistan is believed to be complicit in some form or the other of bad behaviour. Unfortunately, the international medical community is hardly exempt from thinking that our nation is up to no good. Pakistan, after all, is one of the global leaders in ‘transplant tourism’.
