Melbourne egg donation hobbyist may hold world record

June 13, 2011

When Melbourne office worker Faith Haugh, 41, exceeded Australia’s legal cap for individuals to donate their eggs, she went overseas to fulfil a desire to help infertile couples achieve parenthood. The laws are aimed at preventing unintentional inbreeding among donor children. Ms Haugh is believed to hold the world record for the largest number of children conceived through egg donation, a “hobby” she started 18 years ago through an anonymous donation. (BioEdge)
