Govt to fund iPS cell study

The Education, Science and Technology Ministry announced Thursday it will subsidize research into induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, which show promise for regenerative medicine while sidestepping the ethical issues involved in producing embryonic stem (ES) cells, and open a facility for the research at Kyoto University.
