Op-Ed: Bank for cord blood needs more donors

Although the research is ongoing, doctors hope to use the umbilical cord blood to treat cancer patients, and because the cord blood contains the same potent stem cells found in bone marrow, it also can be used to help patients who need bone marrow transplants. (San Antonio Express-News)
