Call For Papers – MSU Graduate Philosophy Conference
November 17, 2008
Michigan State University
10th Annual Graduate Philosophy Conference
April 4th, 2009
Call For Papers
The graduate students at Michigan State University’s Department of Philosophy invite papers in all areas of social political thought and value theory, including:
- Social and Political Thought
- Biomedical Ethics
- Gender and Race Theory
- Ethics and Development
- Environmental Ethics
- Historical Ethics
- Aesthetics
- Metaethics
- Philosophy of Science
While our ability to appreciate your paper depends in part upon whether we are familiar with its specialization, we are much more interested in receiving good papers regardless of their area. Â We are seeking especially those papers that make an original conribution and offer careful philosophical expansion. Â Preference will be given to those papers that the reviewer believes will provoke thoughtful and engaged discussion. Â As a graduate body, we see social interaction-as friendly, authentic discourse-as a great aid to the practice of philosophy. Â We hope our speakers will engage both in the scholarly and more social aspects of the conference, which include and opening dinner and farewell party.
