Op-Ed: Moral, fiscal objections to stem-cell referendum

October 25, 2007

On Nov. 6, New Jersey citizens will go to the polls to vote for candidates for public office and decide whether to support or oppose several questions that will appear on the ballot. In the case of Public Question 2, the $450 million stem-cell research bond issue, New Jersey citizens should be aware that legislative leaders have concealed important information from the voting public, regarding not only the monetary burdens that will be piled onto the backs of the overburdened taxpayers, but the moral and legal ramifications of funding such research. This is the reason that 15 citizens and New Jersey Right to Life filed a lawsuit challenging the referendum. (Home News Tribune)
