Facebook and other social networking websites are posing new ethical issues for doctor-patient relationships, according to researchers from Harvard-affiliated McLean Hospital. Do patients’ “friending”—the act of initiating an online relationship on asocial networking site—doctors violate doctor-patient confidentiality?
