At the end of life, Oregon and Washington residents want less medical intervention

Oregon residents spend fewer days in hospitals at the end of life and they get more hospice care aimed at relief of suffering rather than battling disease. That’s in contrast with many regions of the U.S. where more people seem to receive aggressive medical interventions that they don’t want or need. (The Oregonian)
