Kenya: Major Test for Doctor-Patient Confidentiality
April 12, 2007
The need for confidentiality is enshrined in the ethics of the medical profession. It is based on trust and is one of the core issues in patient-doctor relationships. When a patient consults a doctor, he opens up and lets out some of the most sensitive aspects of his life, secrets and personal history. This is on the presumption that the doctor will use the information only for the patient’s good and that the information will be kept confidential. (allAfrica.com)
