Nanotech Lung Infection Device Developed
October 22, 2014
(Digital Journal) – UC Irvine technologists have produced a nanotechnology device that can detect lung infections. The project was led by Regina Ragan and electrical engineer Filippo Capolino. According to Controlled Environments, the device is a nano-optical sensor that can detect tiny quantities of infection in a small sample of breath. As well as diagnosing medical conditions, the device can potentially detect air pollution.
