Researchers Identify Drug Target for Behavioral Symptoms of Fragile X Syndrom

(Medical News Today) – A drug currently undergoing testing as a treatment for cancer may also be effective against some symptoms of fragile X syndrome – an inherited form of autism. This is according to a study published in the journal Cell Reports. Fragile X syndrome, also known as Martin-Bell syndrome, is estimated to affect 1 in 4,000 males and 1 in 8,000 females in the US.
