Blood Flow Issues Halt Development of Stem Cell Treatment

August 8, 2014

(Diabetes Insider) – An experimental research into the possible use of stem cell treatment to help prevent heart failure has now been halted due to several of the recipients of the therapy suffering from adverse effects. It is said that three people undergoing the experimental treatment have developed blood flow issues in their bodies. As a result of the adverse events, the treatment will now be put on hold while scientists research the problems in more details – while they hope to find a solution, the issues obviously represent an annoying delay in their schedule.
