Adding bite to FDA screening

Senator Edward M. Kennedy is leading efforts in Congress to pass legislation to overhaul the Food and Drug Administration. Such reform is needed, because the FDA has repeatedly failed to protect the public from drugs and medical devices that prove dangerous to patients. Unfortunately, the proposed legislation is so weak that it is unlikely to save any lives. (Boston Globe)
