IVF Bill Raises Ethical, Medical Problems, Doctors Say

(Montreal Gazette) – Quebec’s Bill 20 — which would no longer cover in vitro fertilization under medicare — raises a number of ethical and medical problems, say fertility experts. First is the requirement that couples engage in a period of sexual relations — to be determined by government regulation — to prove they have tried to have a child before seeking fertility treatment.
