(Med Page Today) – Wide variety in methods for trials of stem cell therapies for heart failure are a big reason for the inconsistent results in the literature, according to a review article. Over the last 20 years, researchers have gotten closer to their goal of bringing stem cell regenerative medicine to patients with heart failure, wrote Joseph C. Wu, MD, PhD, of Stanford University School of Medicine, Calif., and colleagues online in JAMA Cardiology.
