First Yazidi Genocide Trial Ends in Conviction of German ISIS Member

(Wall Street Journal) – The first trial related to Islamic State genocide against the Yazidi people ended in a conviction as a German court on Monday sentenced a member of the terror group to 10 years in prison for her role in the enslavement and killing of a 5-year-old girl. The Higher Regional Court of Munich found a German woman who traveled to Fallujah, Iraq, in 2014 to join ISIS guilty of crimes against humanity for her role in enslaving a Yazidi mother and her child and in the abuse that led to the girl’s death.
