Glasgow To Pioneer Stem Cell Stroke Treatment
January 19, 2009
Glasgow is to become the centre for the pioneering research into the effectiveness of transplanting stem cells made from human foetal tissue into the brains of stroke patients.
It emerged last night that ReNeuron, the Guildford-based stem cell research company championing the research, has been given approval from the UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Agency after being frustrated by the lack of progress in getting the nod in the US. (The Herald)
