(BBC) – Ageing is often thought of as a gradual process that happens to the body as a whole, albeit at different speeds for different people. But while it can be helpful to examine our decline at a holistic level, doing so may not provide us with the whole picture. Research shows that the complex mix of genetic, lifestyle and environmental factors that determine how quickly our bodies age does not affect all our organs in equal measure.
