(Texas Monthly) – An Austin-based health-optimization chain plans a national rollout as interest in the industry—still trying to define itself—booms.
Humanaut Health, which opened its first location last fall, in Austin, hopes to build a chain of concierge medical clinics focused on preventing problems before they occur, through hyperpersonalized counseling as well as more experimental therapies and procedures than are generally offered in the traditional medicine system. Its patients can receive IVs meant to supplement vitamins or restore energy. (These have included both marathon runners coming in after big races and people who imbibed too much the night before.) Also available is ozone therapy, which adds ozone gas—proponents tout it as a supercharged form of oxygen—to a patient’s blood.
